Gobble Gobble...
I just did a session this afternoon that had to be one of the most fun sessions I've ever done, rivaled by one where I played one of Cinderella's wicked stepsisters in a shoe commercial.
I was a wife, and my husband? A turkey.
Yup, a turkey.
And, I actually thought they'd just dub the turkey in later, but no no no... there was actually someone playing the turkey (keep in mind, his lines on the script were written as "Gobble, gobble... " throughout... nothing more than that).
The gentleman playing the turkey came in character... from the moment they dialed me in, he was just gobbling away, conversing with the engineer and client. And, of course, there were all kinds of jokes about turkeys, fowl, poultry... you name it. Oh, and once in a while, the turkey's agent would chime in... translating what his "client" had told him.
I haven't laughed that hard in a while! And, he was a really, really good turkey. Very believable.
I really love doing dialogue spots.... especially with turkeys.
You can listen to the actual commercial below... it turned out really cute!
