What a community!
I must say, I have made many friends in voice over in the past couple of years, and all of them... TRULY ALL of them, are the kindest, most helpful folks on the planet. We all try to help each other out as best we can... it's really refreshing. And, the neatest thing is, we're friends from afar. We don't see each other every day, or even talk on the phone. Most of this is done through message boards and forums.
I've found great people at vo-bb.com and at voiceoversavvy.com. The group at vo-bb.com is small and close-knit, and I think that there are few people "lurking" the board... most are participating in the conversations. And they have great advice. The folks on voiceoversavvy.com are equally as nice and helpful. It is a larger community, and diverse with beginners to age old pros. I particularly like their "Demo of the Day" thread where you can get honest opinions about your most recent auditions. And, on both boards, the folks have a sense of humor like I've seen no where else. Many of them could be stand-up comedians!
I've noticed that some of these wonderful people have added my blog to their list of blogs to visit. I'm honored as these folks are top-notch artists. If you have a minute, visit Amy Snively's new web site at amysnively.com, and visit Bob Souer's "The Voiceover Boblog".
