Hi!!
Apparently, I have some fans out there because someone just emailed me and asked if I was ever going to post another blog.
I've been slacking on the blog duties, I admit!
Lots has happened in the past six months... so here's a brief rundown!
- obviously my new demos are available for a listen! My coach, Peter Rofe', did a great job with them. Gary Travers from VoiceOverMiami.com was kind enough to take a few spots from the three demos and mix them together for a "mix demo" with which I updated my profile on voiceovermiami.com. He's a great guy for doing that for me.... and he had lots of really super nice things to say about my work. Thank you Gary!
- in the fall, I helped Randy Thomas and Peter in proofreading the book proposal for their new book, "Voice for Hire: How to Launch and Maintain a Lucrative Voice-Over Career" -- it's a fabulous book and a must-read.
- I purchased a Telos Zephyr XStream for my studio back in October, and have been busy over the past couple of months with set up. I will admit, I'm not an audio engineer, but I've learned a heck of a lot in getting it working along side my Symetrix, my board, my MBox, Pro-Tools, and my mic.
- Recently, I was selected as a finalist for Voices.com's Voicey Awards in not one, but two categories: Best New Voice and Best Personal Branding. While I didn't win, I'm am TOTALLY HONORED to have been a finalist. The competition was fierce, and the winners in those categories are fantastic artists. I've had the pleasure of becoming friends with Kara Edwards (the winner of the Best New Voice) - she's a fantastic woman.
So, that's voice over life for the past six months, in a nutshell!! I promise to write more frequently!
Stay tuned... Caryn
